Vacuum pump may fail, losing brake assist

Crash risk

A small part inside the vacuum pump, the vane cap, can break and cause the pump to fail. If that happens, the brakes can suddenly lose their power assist, which raises the risk of a crash.

Fix: The dealer will repair or replace the vacuum pump, as needed, at no cost to you.
