Camera

The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse. A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270.

Gear position indication (PRNDL), Shift linkage / cable / rod

The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach. A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Fix: Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022.

Recall 22V413000 · Jun 2022

Front brake hoses may rupture early

Crash risk

The front brake hoses can burst before they should. A burst hose leaks brake fluid, which makes the car take longer to stop and raises the chance of a crash.

Fix: The dealer will replace the front brake hoses with new ones that have a revised braid material, at no cost to you.

Recall 20V469000 · Aug 2020

Torque converter

On vehicles with 2.0L gas engines and six-speed automatic transmissions, the torque converter weld studs may have been inadequately welded. If the torque converter weld studs fail, the torque converter will not be connected to the engine flexplate and the vehicle will lose the ability to move, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque converters, free of charge. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 17V-427.

Recall 18V390000 · Jun 2018

Transmission torque converter may detach from engine

Crash risk

On some vehicles with a 2.0L gas engine and six-speed automatic, the studs that attach the torque converter to the engine may be poorly welded. If they fail, the vehicle can lose the ability to move, which raises the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will replace the torque converter free of charge, and Ford or Lincoln will notify owners by mail.

Roof and pillars

These vehicles may have an improperly welded windshield header, reducing the vehicle's lateral structural integrity. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 214, "Side Impact Protection." If the vehicle has reduced lateral structural integrity, the occupants are at an increased risk of injury in the event of a side-impact crash.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will repair the windshield header, free of charge. Ford's number for the recall is 17C05.

Recall 17V205000 · Mar 2017

Driver air bag may not fully inflate

Injury risk

In a crash, the driver's front air bag may not fully inflate or its cushion may detach from the module, so it may not protect the driver as designed. This raises the risk of injury in a crash.

Fix: The dealer will replace the driver's front air bag module at no cost to you.
